Well into the 21st Century and music scene is developing and evermore changing. New genres and directions popping up everywhere as the new century generation demand more of a new and different.

And in this respect it is a breath of fresh air that a band from a God forsaken little town in Croatia is staying true to it’s musical upbringing. Influenced by anyone from Bob Dylan and Beatles to Nirvana and Prodigy, Led Zepp to The Ramones. You would think, ah well another punk band searching for their spot under the sun, and you would be wrong. M.O.R.T. are using the all these rock greats as a springboard to reach the new places and new heights. The bands song lyrics are like something out of the movie, a rare insight into a human behavior from the strange looking passerby outta Hunter S Thompson or Jack Kerouac. It is the later that made an instant impact on the band, and result is “Na cesti” (On the road) a brilliant story of friendship and life, love and sorrow. M.O.R.T. other songs worth a mention are “Buka u glavi” (Head noise), “Pas” (Dog), “Mali Isus” (Little Jesus), “Olovni vonici” (Steal soldiers) and happy-go-lucky good vibe “Meni se skace” (I wanna jump) that, by the way, has gone thru the 1 million YouTube hits.

Showcase festivals around Europe are fighting to get them on their festival program, so it is with great pleasure that I can announce the band’s premier visit to UK in May. The boys will appear at the prestigious Liverpool Sound City over the weekend of May 5-6 while all curious can catch the band in London on May 4 at the Underbelly in Hoxton.

What else to say? If you are, like me, an avid rock fan, defender of rock classics but always on a look out for a new, different and brave “guardians of rock galaxy” then you will stop everything you’re doing and check them out right now. So indulge yourself, and relax. After all music soothes even the savage beast.
